Charles Catteau French Art Deco Pottery Vase
About the Item
Charles Catteau’s Art Deco style, like the wider French Art Deco style, was heavily influenced by Japanese designs. This vase, produced in 1932, features a graphic and dynamic design of a stylized lyre bird amongst boldly painted flowers. The design, outlined in a deep ochre, has a cloisonne effect which solidifies the allusion to a japanesque style.
Dimensions: 12 in. H x approximately 7 in Dm at widest point
Condition: Excellent. Tiny glaze fleck measuring approximately 0.1 cm.
