Chinese Qing 19th Century Altar Vase with Hand-Painted Flowers and Birds
About the Item
A Chinese Qing Dynasty hand-painted altar vase from the 19th century, with birds, flowers and tree décor, and gilt trim. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century, this altar vase features a narrow flaring neck showcasing an opening of 3.5" diameter, accented with a gilt trim. This top is leading our eye to discover a colorful décor on two sides, alternating with calligraphy on the two others. Two birds, possibly from the pheasant family judging by their long tails, are standing on a tree branch, looking at one another. Their orange, green and black tones stand out beautifully on the vase's white ground. The sides are accented with decorative ring pulls and adorned with black painted calligraphy. With its vibrant color and skillfully executed décor, this Qing Dynasty 19th century Chinese hand-painted altar vase will make for a lovely decorative addition to any home, whether placed atop a commode, side table or console!
