Large vase in red art glass. Rare shape. Dating: 1960s. Good condition, with a small and insignificant chip at the top. See photo. Dimensions: D 18.5 cm. x H 16.5 cm. Christer Holmgren (born 1933 in Malmö, Sweden) was educated in ceramic, graphic, and industrial design in Gothenburg. In 1957, he began as an intern at Holmegaard Glassworks and was soon employed full-time, staying until 1971. During this time, he created several notable series, including Rosamund (1968), Solifleur, Largo, and parts of the "Blue Hour" barware series, often in collaboration with his wife Christel Holmgren‑Exner. After leaving Holmegaard, the couple established their own design studio in Næstved. Holmgren’s work marked a transition from Per Lütken’s traditional style to a more modern and experimental approach within Danish glass design.
