About the Item

A stunning Art Nouveau floral design art pottery vase decorated in iridescent glazes attributed to renowned French ceramic artist Clement Massier (1845-1917) dating from the latter end of the 19th century. The lightly potted and large shaped vase is of tall bulbous shape standing on a narrow round inset unglazed foot with a recessed base. The tall round bulbous body of simple form with a tall slightly graduated funnel shaped neck and simple round opening. The body of the vase is decorated in green, red and tones of blue with flowering stems around the body. The intensity of color varies around the body of the vase giving various tonality to the pattern which is brighter in some places and darker in others. The vase has some indistinct marks to the base and was acquired as by Clement Massier and certainly reflective of his style and quality. Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
