Czech Skrdlovice 'Antique Glass' Vase Designed Emanuel Beranek, 1945 Part of Emanuel Beranek's "Antique Glass" range, the bubbles in the glass were created by dissolving carbonates into the melt. This technique evolved during the Second World War to hide impurities in low quality glass but proved so beautiful and popular that it was continued after better quality materials became available. The colours are produced with powdered enamel. Additional information: Date : Designed 1945 Origin : Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic Bowl Features : Classic 'Antique Glass' bubbles to the body with white powdered enamel. Deep read colouring to the base and two trailing rams head handles. Type : Lead Size : H 17 cm height Diameter approx at widest point : 11 cm Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks Restoration : None
