About the Item

Large wide vase with sweeping shape, made of chamotte clay which gives the surface an rustic expression. The glaze is greyish-brown, with a satin look at the body of the vase and glossy at the neck. It's designed and made by Nils Kähler for the ceramic workshop HAK (Herman August Kähler) in Næstved, Denmark. Made ca. 1970s. Hand-marked on bottom with HAK + Nils (Nils Kähler) + Danmark Nils Kähler (1906-1979) was fourth generation of the family Kähler. He and his brother Herman Jørgen Kähler, who were in charge of Kähler's ceramic workshop from 1940, brought the artistic expressions of the ceramic production into the Mid-century period. The vase is in mint condition
