Early 20th C Rustic French Mustard Glazed Confit Jar
About the Item
Found in France, this French confit jar dates from approximately 1915. This piece stands 12.25” high and has the traditional form with a wide vessel body and two handles on the sides with a mustard-colored glaze on the outside top half and fully glazed inside in the same mustard glaze. The lighter spot near front of rim on top front in photos is the reflection of our studio lighting and NOT a flaw in the glaze. There is some scattered age-related wear - chips to glaze, rim and base but no structural damage or repairs. These older, traditional French pots are getting more difficult to come by and at the time of this posting, we have a good amount of inventory in various sizes, shapes and glazes. Please inquire if you are interested in a group or other pieces from our current available inventory.
