Stoneware "Atticware" Painted Vase. Impressive painted stoneware storage vessel, inspired by Ancient Greek Black and Red figure vessels. Astonishing decoration of ancient tales in remarkable original condition. Magrou was a renowned sculptor in Bronze with a heavy interest in the Ancient Civilisations, this huge example is likely to be unique and produced for himself during the period researching his 1931 publication "Skulptur and Beauty in Ancient Greece". Signed Jean Magrou, France, Circa 1930.
