8 large 1960s flower bulb hyacinth, daffodil, tulip and crocus vases. All clear blown glass in beige, amber and yellow/green colours by Royal Leerdam Crystal company and by the Rimac Baarn company. Two of the greenish yellow ones are actually vaseline (or uranium) glass. It was established as a department within a glassware producing factory, Glasfabriek Leerdam founded in 1765. From 1938 until 2002 it was part of the Schiedam-based Vereenigde Glasfabrieken. The Rimac company was run by Rinus Machielsen (Ri-Mac), who started business in Baarn (NL) just after WW2. In 1954 he decided to start making hyacinth- and crocus vases. Rimac vases came in bright colours and swinging sixties shapes that sold well. The Rimac vases were mouth-blown into iron moulds, and the shape and height is therefore slightly variable. Perfect to display a blossoming bulbous collection flowers in.

  • Eight 1960s Clear Glass Italian Empoli Duck Dog Fish Decanters Bottles and Vases
    Located in Haarlem, NL
Very decorative rare clear glass set of eight different size Italian pressed glass bottles. This set is almost completely animal themed, a duck, a poodle, a dachshund and two fishes. But also a pressed Brutalist large cognac glass a petite blown glass carafe and a pressed so called 'corset' carafe. Mention Italian glass and probably everyone’s mind immediately leaps to Venice and Murano. But there is another almost equally famous centre of Italian glass making known as Empoli. Empoli glass is generally much simpler and does not have the intricately applied trim or decorations associated with Venetian and Murano pieces. The simple traditional styles of Empoli glass were quickly adapted to the abstract shapes of mid 20th century modernism. It became hugely popular as a decorative home accent, and was exported across the world. Now they are highly sought after by international collectors and look beautiful arranged together. All bottles have their stopper and are different in design, shape and size (height with stopper): Duck shaped genie bottle, 40cm high, 13cm wide, 12cm deep (15.7" x 5.1"x 4.7") Poodle bottle 38cm high, 14cm wide and 8cm deep Dachshund Wiener dog bottle 36cm high, 10cm wide, 9,5cm deep Fish decanter...
