Elegant Crystalline Glaze Porcelain Vase, University City, Taxile Doat

Elegant thrown porcelain vase with an expansive and vibrant aquamarine crystalline glaze on a sand colored base by master French ceramist Taxile Doat, from the University City Porcelain Works in St. Louis, circa 1912. A wonderful example of the colorful crystalline glazes he became known for on an elegantly formed base. Many of his proportions are derived from Asian forms. He was formerly an important decorator from the National Porcelain Manufactory at Sèvres, France. Signed "3, UC, 1912". Approx measures 5" x 5". Excellent condition.
