About the Item

Wonderful Art Nouveau vase by the artist Jean Garnier (born in Monzeuil 1853-1910). This art work is called "En détresse", translated as " In need". Depicted are two nudes or so called nymphs inside the water. Signed on the side "J. Garnier". Cast iron of a very nice quality. This design was proposed in the catalog of the Grands Magasins du louvre of 1910. Literature Source: " Étains 1900, 200 sculpteurs de la Belle Époque" - Philippe Dahhan, page 163.
