The rare and well-vase is very well preserved and has neither quirks, flakes, etc. A wonderful tall and substantial Danish modern vintage ceramic vase executed in a rich combination of textures and blue and black glazes designed by master artisan Svend Aage Jensen. Jensen was famous for his innovative glazes and designed like Einar Johansen countless exciting and pioneering designs during his time at Soholm. The glaze of this vase shimmers almost like mother-of-pearl and shows delicate color traces of milky blue and dark colors. The body is etched with fine lines while the neck shows an amazing variation of rich glazing a panorama of blue and blacks/ browns. The bottom is impressed with the soholm stentoj Copenhagen, Denmark. Dimensions: well built, 16.5 inches high and 7 inches diameter Provenance: From old German collection Fine quality. Handmade handarbeite and hand glazed in a beautiful form. Rich colors. Only one. History of designer: The sgraffito technique and the glaze were designed by Svend Aage Jensen, a master in glazes. From 1935-1958 he owned his own manufactory and later worked for Soholm and Knabstrup from 1944 until 1980 and developed many famous designs. We have been dealing in authentic European ceramics, Japanese antique ceramics, garden ornaments, lanterns and water basins for many years. Mr. Schneible personally travels to Europe and Japan each year to meet his network partners who assist him in finding best examples. Japan, an exceptionally tall 29" antique monumental monochrome amber yellow crackle glazed dragon vase with a dramatic and impressive "curling dragon" wrapped around its stem. It was crafted by the master artisans of the Japanese southern Awaji Kiln, from the late Meiji to Taisho period (1910-1920). The impressive porcelain vase crafted in a tubular modernist form with an original amber yellow glazed finish and with an applied curling dragon sculpture. It is unsigned as many normally were from that period and is in original condition with normal kiln origination surface creation imperfections.
