Pair of Art Nouveau vases made of glazed barbotine majolica earthenware, numbered 4166 80 at the bottom, authentic antique vases, France, circa 1900. Ornate vases with elegant curls, acanthus handles, beautiful pink flowers along the neck, the egg-shaped vases have bright colour shades ranging from light green to dark green and turquoise, typical colours for that period, the inside of the vases is turquoise and white and also glazed. The vases are not perfectly identical in colour, but they both exude character and individuality! Barbotine majolica is a form of earthenware, in which clay is used to apply decorations to ceramic work. Barbotine is a type of clay slip that is used to make decorations or to stick elements together, while majolica refers to an earthenware style with colourful, glazed decorations. The vases are in very good condition, with signs of age and use consistent with their age, 1 vase has an old naive repair (gluing) on ​​the handle, check the photos for more details!
