Glass Vase by Fortunée Noël

About the Item

Fortunée Noël, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 2003, is a Franco-Israeli artist. Originally from the south of France, a native of Nice, she represented Monaco at the Beijing Biennale in 2008. After over twenty years of exhibiting her works and paintings in various countries such as China, Israel, France, Monaco, Germany, Japan, and New York, the artist has settled in Nice. She collaborates with architects, producing these unique vases using her interior painting technique. Her works are based on expressionist art, with the artist focusing on movement, gesture, and abstraction. Few artists master the "interior painting" technique as it is challenging, requiring careful consideration of different layers of paint applied in reverse. Having lived in China for eight years, the artist observed the Chinese craftsmanship using this ancestral technique in small formats called Nei-hua and adapted it to large formats with a very contemporary result! Fortunée Noël's vases are created using blown glass and hand-painted on the inside with cold enameling. These vases feature abstract patterns on reverse-gilded glass. A shimmering effect is achieved through the addition of metallic and golden pigments. Noël's vases exude rare elegance, showcasing a craftsmanship she has developed over twenty-five years through her plexiglass paintings. Their uniqueness lies in the choice of colors, the thickness of the worked glass, dimensions, and the powerful brush strokes. Some evasive shapes are formed by diluting pigments. Each piece is unique, and the artisanal process makes Fortunée Noël's vases true collector's items. Of course, each piece is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Artist Fortunée Noël works the material from the inside, resulting in a smooth finish that adds to the originality of this technique. The sensitivity of lacquer painting and a certain extreme-oriental influence, where precise gestures channel energy to sublime the intended meaning, is recognizable. These vases, unable to hold water, are purely decorative, illuminated by their transparency and color. They will find their place in different interiors, marking spaces with their energy and beauty. *NO Water inside * It comes with a certificate of Authenticity
