Hand-Painted Aztec Pattern Vase

About the Item

A 1960 terracotta clay vessel. Features a mix of blues, greens & oranges as the background of the symbolic motifs specific to aztec culture. Aztec artifacts, including vases and other vessels, were often adorned with a variety of motifs and symbols that held significant meaning in their culture. Geometric designs were common, featuring repeating patterns of lines, squares, and other shapes. These often had symbolic meanings, related to their cosmology and view of the universe.
