About the Item

Handkerchief vase by Fulvio Biancon x Venini. Produced in good condition with small signs of wear caused by age and use. Having settled in Milan, Fulvio Bianconi collaborated throughout his life with the publishing houses Mondadori, Bompiani and Garzanti, as a graphic designer and illustrator, also dedicating himself to frescoing the Galtrucco shops and the pavilions of the Fiera Campionaria. These professions are accompanied by a constant passion for glass. In 1946 he repeatedly went to Murano to learn about the art of glassmaking. Here, the meeting with Paolo Venini was decisive: the young man's creativity marked a breaking point for the history of the VENINI company. The eager research and experimentation of new techniques for working glass, even with the reworking of ancient skills, was a constant for Fulvio Bianconi. New movements and colors in glass were born, which redesigned the link between the history of Murano and great modernity. Numerous iconic works were born from the contamination of the craft with creative flair, such as the Figures of the Commedia dell'Arte, the Tiepolos, the Handkerchief, the Sirens and the Pezzati.
