Bodil Kjær aimed to design vases with “inner walls” to allow flowers to appear more natural – as if they were growing wild. She envisioned a vase that would highlight a single branch or flower rather than an entire bouquet. Her goal was to create shapes that could be locked together, making it possible to build large indoor flower arrangements. This vision led to the creation of the Cross vases.
Produced by Gullaskruf Glasbruk, Sweden, for Torben Ørskov & Co., Denmark, during the period 1962 to 1978.
