Italian Murano Scavo Vase

About the Item

A mid-20th century Italian Murano blown scavo glass vase of Classical Roman form with two green glass handles applied to an opaque white fluted vase resting a tiered green glass foot. Scavo is Italian for "dug up" and is a hand blown glass technique developed in Murano, Italy in the 1950s and 1960s to mimic ancient objects that one might find in archaeological excavations. The surfaces are rough, matte, and absolutely perfect!
