Japanese Colorful Antique Sake Bottle / 'Kutani Ware' / 1830-1900 / Small Vase

About the Item

Kutani ware is a color-painted porcelain produced around Kanazawa City in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture, starting in 1655. It features a colorful overpainting. (The red circle in the photo is the location of the Kutani kiln.) This item is a sake bottle baked from the late Edo period to the Meiji period. Colorful features such as blue, yellow, purple, and green are well represented. And all these patterns are meaningful. The blue pattern is called "sayagata" and means longevity. The yellow rhombus pattern is called "hishigata" and means prosperity of descendants and no illness. The purple fan-shaped pattern is called "seigaiha" and means prosperity of descendants. On the bottom is a kanji that reads "Fuku". This means happiness. It is an item with a very auspicious Japanese traditional pattern. This is in good condition with no major scratches. People who drink sake should definitely use this. You can also use it as a vase. it's recommended.
