Exceptional contemporary Japanese decorative porcelain vase, intricately hand painted in various shades of blue on an elegant ovoid body, a signed piece by master porcelain artist from the Arita-Imari region in Japan. In 2016, the British Museum added a work by this artist to its collection of contemporary Japanese porcelain in the Imari-Arita polychrome enamel tradition. The artist is a highly acclaimed master porcelain artist and the recipient of numerous awards for his exceptional porcelain work and his unique signature gold and platinum work on porcelain. A seamless intricate maple leaf pattern in white set against a stunning blue background expressed in underglaze blue creates a striking scene with gazelles elegantly stotting all around this beautiful piece. This exquisite porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 12.5 in, D 13 in "Fire on Gold", his signature style, highlights unique techniques for incorporating gold and platinum into the hand painting and multiple firing processes that yield a stunningly opulent look.
