Karl Schantz Feathered Bud Vase, American-Canadian Studio Art Glass
About the Item
Vintage art glass bud vase features abstract pattern in organic beige and blue palette, created in feathered glass in Art Deco style. The colored glass is encased in clear glass in sommerso technique. Minimal color palette allows sculptural, graphic shape of the vase to take center stage while guiding the eye along the lines of the piece.
The vase is signed and dated by the artist in etching on the bottom. Based on the date, the vase was created either before, or immediately after Schantz relocated to Canada from Western New York, and represents an early work of the artist. Rare, unusual piece will make a great gift to a studio glass collector or design enthusiast.
