About the Item
Stracciatella is the inaugural piece from Tellurico’s ongoing Telluride project—an award-winning series of sculptural vessels crafted in a proprietary Volcanic Porcelain. This striking bowl merges material innovation with deep geological narrative: a blend of ultra-white elastic porcelain and lava stones sourced directly from the Phlegrean Fields in Southern Italy. During firing, the lava bursts through the surface of the porcelain, forming spontaneous, organic textures that make each piece unique.
Although produced in a limited edition, no two bowls are ever alike; each one is shaped by fire, chemistry, and the elemental tension between fragility and force. The resulting object is more than a functional centrepiece: it is a work of material poetry.
In 2021, Stracciatella was awarded the prestigious Fondazione Officine Saffi Award in Milan. It has since been exhibited internationally, from Emma Scully Gallery in New York and Mint Gallery in London, to the ADI Design Museum in Milan, the Hong Kong Design Institute, and the Italian Pavilion in Beijing, affirming its status as a collectible object within the global design landscape.

Tellurico
Tellurico is a multidisciplinary design studio specialised in objects, spaces and installations design, founded in 2017 by Francesco Pace. Tellurico's practice is mainly focused on pushing forward the boundary between art and design, using the combination of contemporary aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. All the products presented on 1stDibs are limited editions or one-offs and they are the result of cutting-edge experimentation blended with high-end materials. n 2020 Tellurico has been nominated by Platform Magazine among the Best Italian Designers. In 2021 Tellurico won the prestigious Officine Saffi Awards with his project Telluride and in 2022 has been listed among the Next Pure Talent of 2022 by Elle Decor. So far, Tellurico’s works have been presented in many international venues such as the Biennale of Design in Venice, Van AbbeMuseum in Eindhoven, M.A.D.RE. in Naples, Triennale di Milano, Emma Scully Gallery in New York, Brohan Museum in Berlin, Dutch Design Week Beirut Design Fair, Italian Pavilion in Barcelona, Zoya Gallery in Bratislava and others. This piece can also be crafted in White Volcanic Porcelain or Yellow Volcanic Stoneware. Custom editions, including vases, centrepieces, bowls, plates, and sculptural objects, can be developed upon request for collectors, galleries, or special interiors. Cracks, irregularities, and surface variations are not flaws but intentional outcomes. They reflect the natural behaviour of the materials. These characteristics enhance the uniqueness of every piece.
