Large Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Parasol Handle

About the Item

A large Japanese Ginbari enamel parasol or umbrella handle. The ground of the vase is enameled in a cobalt blue shade. The vase is enameled with a green bamboo tree pattern and a white cloud motif made in the Cloisonne technique. Ginbari is a Japanese cloisonne technique when clear enamel is laid over a stippled silver layer applied to the copper sheet body.
