About the Item

A substantial and beautifully decorated antique Japanese bronze vase in archaic style. The urn-shaped body is supported on a recessed base, with a rounded shoulder and a short neck ending in a flared rim. The shoulders are flanked by two handles and the surface is heavily cast with intricate relief designs, including bands of taotie masks, stylized birds, and geometric scroll motifs.
