Large Raku Vessel by Dieter Balzer

Early 1980s Brutalist Raku vessel by well noted German artist Dieter Balzer. In the 1980s before turning to painting and wood constructions, Balzer did a series of Raku vessels. This work has been confirmed by the artist. Its larger scale and rip/torn treatment is very reminiscent to the work of Peter Voulkos.
