Ludovico Diaz de Santillana Two Venini Murano glass vases - Italian design 1970s
About the Item
Two Venini vases mold blown glass with decoration on the band in colored glass. Signed in Venini Italia acid. Produced by Venini, Italy, around 1970.
Rare Laura de Santillana for Venini blown glass designed in the 1970s, signed Venini. This beautiful murano piece featured eye-catching colors, using fused polichrome glass canes technique. It has a wonderful decorative presence, and is found in a very good vintage condition.
Graduated in architecture in Venice, he immediately devoted himself to university teaching. After marrying Anna Venini, Paolo's daughter, he took over the management of “Venini & C.” from the owner's death to 1985, when he moved to EOS with the same duties, for which he designed important collections. As owner, Ludovico de Santillana gave great expansion to glass in the world of architecture, opening the VENINI furnaces and the secrets of Murano to young Americans, with a delicate balance between art craftsmanship, design and industry.
