Małgorzata Łyszczarz Ikebana Vase 1 with Insert by Nów

About the Item

Malgorzata Lyszczarz Ikebana Vase 1 With Insert by Nów Designed by Malgorzata Lyszczarz Dimensions: D 1.5 x W 13 x H 11.5 cm Materials: wheel thrown, shape altered after throwing, slab building, glazed stoneware. Malgorzata is an art historian and artist working in clay. She graduated from the Wroclaw University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. During her studies she got fascinated with Japanese art and architecture and that is how she came across the ceramics of Far East masters. Since then started to develop her own pottery skills and finally set up own ceramic workshop. Her ceramics is close to nature not only by it’s organic esthetics, but also by reproduction of nature’s seemingly accidental imperfections and random structures. In her work she focuses mainly on functional vessels made by hand and on a potters wheel from glazed stoneware. She experiments with glazes, apply them in layers and let them blend in the kiln. Due to this fully handmade process all pieces are unique. Nów: We are artisans and promoters of handcrafted production. We come from different parts of Poland, we have different professional experiences. We draw from tradition, although we do not strictly adhere to artisanal rules. We choose the freedom to experiment - with form, material, and the production process. We spread knowledge about contemporary Polish crafts in the country and abroad. We represent the interests of craftsmen in contacts with public institutions and business. Together, we create the New Moon Association. New Craft - an organization of modern craftsmen. Originators of the New Moon Association. New Craft are Olga Milczynska and Malgorzata Herman from Projekt Pracownie.
