Majolica Vase by J. Maresch, Bohemia, circa 1880

Unique Majolica vase by the famous Austrian sculptor "Johann Maresch," circa 1880 in Bohemia - at that time Austria. This appealing model from JM was designed in an Old Greek amphora style combining beautiful lines with a great tone of very dark olive. Highlighted with delightful angels and floral design this amphora vase is truly an impressive and decorative masterpiece. The whole coloring let this vase look like a bronzed piece with gorgeous patina. It is in very good original condition and shows the famous pressmark "JM" and the No.83 on the bottom.
