Massive Expo vase by Olle Alberius for Orrefors, Sweden 1973 A heavy art glass vasel of the Expo series designed by Olle Alberius for Orrefors, Sweden in 1973. Orange glass with a very thick crystal clear glass overlay internaly decorated with a black spiral. Signed with: "Orrefors Expo A 247 73 Olle Alberius". Weight 6.6 kilos (14 lb). A rare piece of Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian glass design. Olle Alberius (1926 - 1993) was a Swedish glass designer and ceramicist. Among other things, he was one of the Orrefors artists who brought the Ariel glassblowing technique to perfection.
