About the Item
A nice MCM drip glaze studio pottery stoneware vase, circa 1970s. The piece is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and measures approximately 4"D x 9"H. It is stamped on the bottom just above the underside. A very nice and functional piece of MCM studio pottery! #9024
This vase has a distinctive bottle-neck shape and features a prominent drip glaze in shades of grey, blue, sandy "speckled" green and white drip, which is a popular technique in studio art pottery. The glaze gives it a rustic and artistic feel, often associated with handmade or artisan pieces. It is made of stoneware clay, indicating it was fired at high tempatures. The base shows the unglazed earthy tone of the clay.
There is a unique "chop mark or signature" impressed into the body of the vase, suggesting it is a signed piece by a particular potter or studio. The style is described as modern or contemporary, with a nod to traditional pottery techniques, and may een be inspired by Japanese or other Asian pottery styles, known for their unique glazes and forms.
