The base of this exquisite piece bears the artist's signature and the maker's mark, adding to its authenticity and collectible value. DIMENSIONS Diameter: 11 cm, Height: 12 cm. ABOUT Olle Alberius (1926–1993) Olle Alberius was a Swedish designer and glass artist born in Jönköping in 1926. Between 1952-1956, Olle Alberius studied at Konstfack in Stockholm. After completing his studies there, he went to Strömstad and got a job at Syco ceramics. In 1963, Olle Alberius was also employed at Rörstrand's porcelain factory and worked in the years 1963-1965 for both Syco and Rörstrand. In 1965, however, he chose to switch to working only for Rörstrand. At Rörstrand, Olle Alberius designed both series-produced ornaments, crockery and also unique stoneware. Some of the most common decorative series are "Titus", "Sarek" and "Lummel" as well as the tableware "Astral", "Forma" and "Taffel". The items were marked with his signature "OA". In 1971, Olle Alberius left Rörstrand and the ceramics to instead start at the Orrefors glassworks and devote himself to glass art. At Orrefors, he designed both tableware, for example "Victoria" and "Erik", but perhaps mainly art glass in the Ariel and Graal technique. He remained faithful to the glassworks for the rest of his professional life. He is represented in, among other places, the Swedish National Museum and the Röhsska Museum. Olle Alberius passed away in Orrefors in 1993.
