Pair of beautiful cased glass Space Age hooped vases by Per-Olof Ström for Alsterfors Glass. Handblown in Sweden, circa the 1960s. Per-Olof Ström was a notable Swedish glass designer known for his innovative designs during the mid-20th century. He worked for Alsterfors Glass, a renowned Swedish glassworks, and his creations often embodied the sleek and futuristic aesthetic of the Space Age era. These vases have been hand-produced with the cased glass technique, which means they consist of two layers of glass, typically with a contrasting color between the layers. Designers at the factory include Edvin Ollers, Ingrid Atterberg, Fabian Lundkvist, and of course Per Olof Strom.
