Minton pate-sur-pate decorated porcelain lidded urn by L Birks, Dated 1892. A Minton Pate Sur Pate teal and light grey porcelain vase and cover on an ivory color ground of twin handled baluster form, the central oval medallion depicting a young scantily clad maiden holding her dress, the reverse with a flying cherub with peace branch in, both in white slip against an olive green ground. Signed LB for Lawrence Birks. Shape number 1914. Gold printed crowned globe Minton mark, with impressed Mintons mark and date cypher for 1892. With retailers mark of Caldwell & Co. Additional Information: Style: Royal Vienna Material: Porcelain Type: Urn Color: White Brand: Minton Dimension: 6 inches diameter x 11 inches tall Conditions: Very good overall with the exception of some restoration to the lid observable under close examination.
