Murano Barbini Signed Abstract Color Scavo Texture Italian Art Glass Flower Vase
About the Item
Beautiful large, and vintage, Murano hand blown white, blue and rust color "Scavo" design Italian art glass cylinder flower vase. The piece is documented, labelled and signed by Master art glass artist Alfredo Barbini, circa 1970s. The vase is made with an acid textured (excavated) surface, and smooth on the inside. The abstract patterns are in blue and rust colors on two sides of the vase. Would make a great display piece on any console table, credenza or dresser. Fill it with flowers, or just display it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 14 1/2” tall x 5 7/8" across.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
