About the Item
Hand-blown glass vase featuring a smooth, rounded silhouette and a refined gradient of colors. The top portion displays a vibrant sky blue hue, fading gently into warm sandy tones and finally into a soft ivory base. The glossy finish enhances the fluid transitions between colors, showcasing delicate internal striations and a luminous surface. An elegant and contemporary decorative piece that adds a serene, sophisticated touch to any interior.
Attributed to Carlo Scarpa, who created numerous glassworks for Venini during the 1930s and 1940s, this piece is believed to belong to the Fasce collection, known for its distinctive horizontal bands and subtle chromatic layering. An elegant and sculptural decorative object that embodies the refined craftsmanship and modernist sensibility of Scarpa's Venetian glass design.
Carlo Scarpa collaborated with Venini from 1932 to 1947, playing a key role as artistic director. During this period, he revolutionized the art of Murano glassmaking, experimenting with innovative techniques and creating iconic collections such as:
Bubbles
Brushstrokes
Roman murrine
Sashes
Engraved
Beaten
Corrosi
These years represent one of the most important and influential periods in the history of 20th-century Murano glass.
Please note that this vase is attributed to Carlo Scarpa based on research conducted through historical catalogues. The piece bears no signature or label, which was likely removed or lost over time.
