"Murrine" vase by Antonio Da Ros for Cenedese, Murano, ca. 1969
About the Item
A nice combination of blue color tones and a good size are making this vase a fine addition to any Murano glass collection. The bond of blue Murrine embracing the vessel was marvered into the hot glass and then cased, so that it is now located between the layers. The opening was skillfully spun open by rotating the glass pipe. This already historic piece is in great condition with minimal traces of use. For reference in literature cf.: Marc Heiremans, "20th century murano glass", Arnoldsche, Stuttgart, 1996, p.191.
