About the Item
Serena Confalonieri continues her research in the field of self-production and craftsmanship. The subject, once again, is hand-blown borosilicate glass. After her Calypso floral glasses collection and Arabesque vases, the designer approaches a product category that hasn’t been explored by the world of design yet: water pipe or “bong”.
Lifestyle’s evolution and the increasing use of cannabis, legalized in many parts of the world for both therapeutic and recreational purposes, open the door to products that draw creatives attention.
Nebula collection, by Serena Confalonieri, approaches this theme with the lightness and irony that distinguish the designer’s stylistic code, and the refinement of high quality craftsmanship.
The outcome is a collection composed by three sinuous objects, inspired by the lightness of smoke spirals and characterized by a mix of colors that recalls 70’s psychedelia. The name, Nebula, also refers to the rarefied shades typical of nebulae, and evokes at the same time a fluid atmosphere, invaded by water vapor.

Serena Confalonieri
Serena Confalonieri is an Italian independent designer and art director, based in Milan, Italy. She works on product, graphic and textile design projects and collaborates with many Italian and international companies. Confalonieri's works are placed in-between product and graphic design, with accurate research on the surfaces always present in her projects. After securing a master’s degree in interior design, she started her career working in many architectures and design practices in Milan, Barcelona and Berlin and collaborating with the Interior Design Faculty of Politecnico di Milano, as an assistant professor. Confalonieri has been selected for design residencies and workshops in Italy and abroad, including in New York, Mexico and Portugal. Her works have been published by important newspapers and magazines, such as The New York Times, Corriere della Sera, Il sole 24 ore, Wallpaper, Interni, Ottagono, L’Officiel, Elle Decor and won prizes, such as a Special Mention at the Young & Design Awards 2014 and the German Design Awards, 2016.
