Large and valuable Italian vase with an original and distinctive shape; it was blown in one piece without joints and then skillfully shaped by skilled artisans; the most difficult operation was to leave the white opaline color inside the vase and make all the different colors on the outside; some colored oxides were applied when the draft of the white opalescent vase had already come out of the kiln; at the precise moment they began to blend and amalgamate with the white, the craftsman began the blowing and shaping of the vase, quickly and rapidly, so that the colors were distributed only on the surface of the object where the craftsman wanted them, without penetrating as if they were brushstrokes, then he put the vase back in the kiln for a very short time and then proceeded to a quick cooling; an operation that not everyone is able to do, in fact, it is delegated only to the Master Glassmakers. The vase was created between 1970 and 1975 by the Vetreria Barbieri in Empoli (FI, Italy), one of the most artistic glassworks in the Tuscan city; it produced many items in the stained glass of excellent quality, it worked opaline glass only between 1970 and 1980 but with excellent results as our vase shows. Often this type of production is mistaken as the workmanship of the Carlo Moretti furnace in Murano, although the two manufacturers are qualitatively equivalent, the provenance of our vase is well established by the conspicuous label of the Barbieri firm that named these items "Opaline Florence." Our artifact is truly an easy-to-appreciate yet scenic work of art that will bring cheerfulness and sympathy to any room in the home. Measures diameter cm.22, height cm.47. The vase is in excellent condition, what may appear to be small defects inside or outside the glass (bubbles, lumps, streaks, etc) are instead evidence of craftsmanship and not the result of modern molding operations. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
