About the Item
A fine pair of antique Japanese cloisonne vases.
By Gonda Hirosuke (1865 - 1937). Little is known about Hirosuke's life, but his work is highly prized and sought after collector's today.
Each vase has scenes of pigeons surrounded by patches of flowers and red autumn maple leaves (momiji) in cells of copper wire with shaded enamels on a black ground.
Both rim and base have a tiny wire ringlet pattern around their circumference.

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
Each vase has a small filled enamel repair (about the size of a pencil eraser). Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches here & there and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
