About the Item

A pair of two solitaire vases: - Solitaire André Delatte vase of Nancy's pâté verre in blue polychrome cobalt glass Marbled lapis lazuli in the style of André Gallé. Diameter 21 cm Height 62 cm - An André Delatte Solitaire vase of Nancy's pâté verre in green polychrome cobalt glass in the style of André Gallé. Not signed. Diameter 10 cm Height 39 cm André Delatte was born in Châtenois (Vosges, France) in 1887. Among his clients are the Muller Brothers. They become friends. Delatte visits Muller's studios and discovers his passion for glass, especially in its chemical aspect. He gets off the bench and studies chemistry. After his diplomas, in 1919, he started a studio in Nancy (rue du Faubourg des 3 Maisons), where he decorated glass pieces made by the Muller Freres. Two years later, he built his first kiln in Jarville, near Nancy. About thirty people work for him. Many of them come from Daum's glass shops. The studios move to Nancy (16 rue de Metz). The Faubourg des 3 Maisons studios are reserved for work when hot. The company was called Verreries de l'Est, which corresponds to Delatte's ambitions. He died in 1953
