About the Item

A beautiful pair of Dutch Delftware Polychrome glazed porcelain vases. Ornately rendered patterns and peacocks adorn in Blue, yellow, white, and green. This set of Chinoiserie style pottery appears to have some stylistic influences from China and Persian motifs. The excellently curved shape of the top sections as well as the octagonal shape of the base art are notable. A mark that looks like the letters ‘APK’ appears on the bottom. This maker’s mark has been associated with Pieter Adriaensz Kocx of De Grieksche A. in Denmark. He was active during the 18th Century. How much pieces with this mark match up to colors, style and subject matter of the period will be an indicator of authenticity of this marking with Kocx’s work. In very good condition. This beautiful set of vases would make for an elegant center piece to introduce in any room whether traditional or as an accent in a modern interior style.
