About the Item
Pair of mercury-gilt bronze tubs from the Empire period, c. 1810.
The two basins are mounted on a cylindrical column resting on a plinth, richly decorated with motifs typical of the Empire taste, such as little flowers and palmettes.
Good state of preservation: the gilding is original to the ormolu; the two tubs come from a house and are sold as bought.
