Pair of Italian Blue Vases with Belle Époque Barbotine Putti and Flowers

About the Item

A stunning pair of Italian earthenware glazed majolica celeste round vases, with white / rose jagged and wavy mouth, perfect for an entry hall table. Of Piedmontese origin, Piedmonte is the northern Italian region closed to the border with France, they are strongly influenced by the French Barbotine style and are ornated by applied polychrome decoration in relief with cherubs, grapes harvesting putti with roses, daisies and vegetal patterns. Good conditions, hand painted, very minor chips due to the age, old restorations, they come from an Italian family private collection. Piedmontese manufacturing of early 20th century, dating back to Art Nouveau period. Original pieces of Barbotine tecnique and style art pottery decorated with putti depicting arts and crafts and floral bouquet draped across the entire front of the vase. The vases are very decorative with amazing applied floral work and will need to be very carefully packed and crated for shipping. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork. Measures: Height 43 cm Diameter 25 cm.
