Pair of Royal Worcester Japonesque Vases, Dated 1896-1897

About the Item

A rare pair of decorative 19th century Royal Worcester porcelain vases decorated in the Japonesque taste, dated 1896-1897. Each vase is decorated with five white panels containing colorful red floral displays in turquoise urns, the panels are separated by dark blue decorative bands which are highlighted with gilt patterning, the shoulder of each vase is decorated with a russet leaf decoration, the dark blue base, collar and lid are highlighted in gilt with swirling grass and floral patterns. In addition to the usual Royal Worcester factory marks, the bottom of each vase is stamped with the number 1864 which I believe to be the pattern number. These vases are in fine condition with no chips, cracks, rubbing, wear or restoration.
