About the Item

An amusing and charming pair of Chinese porcelain vases with molded One Hundred Boys decoration with original custom hardwood stands. The vases depict 3 young children climbing an ancient tree stump. The One Hundred Boys decoration style was popular in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties to express and symbolize the desire of an agricultural society for many sons, success and long life. Vases are mounted on old, possibly original, hardwood stands. Circa 1880-1900.
