Rare pearl necklace vase designed by Gunnel Nyman for Nuutajärv, Finland. Provenance: The collection of the former Finnish Honorary Consul General in the Netherlands.   Gunnel Nyman was a renowned Finnish glass artist whose talent and creativity left an indelible mark on the glass art world, especially at the iconic Nuutajärvi glassworks. Born in 1909, Nyman's artistic journey began at the esteemed School of Applied Arts in Helsinki, where she honed her craft and developed a unique style. In the 1930s, she joined Nuutajärvi, where she became one of the key figures in the studio's golden era. Nyman's innovative designs, often characterized by simplicity and elegance, earned her international recognition and acclaim. Her exquisite glass pieces, ranging from vases to bowls, captivated art enthusiasts worldwide, becoming timeless treasures that continue to inspire new generations of glass artists to this day.
