About the Item
This delicate sculptural vase by Metawa exemplifies the modernist elegance of mid-century design from the 1960s. Crafted in Holland from solid pewter, the piece features a slender, elongated form with a gracefully curved handle and a subtly flared spout, creating a fluid silhouette that balances functionality with artistry. The polished pewter surface catches the light, highlighting the vase’s smooth contours and organic shape, a testament to Metawa’s dedication to quality craftsmanship. Founded in 1923 in Tiel, Holland, Metaalwarenfabriek Metawa specialized in pewter and brass objects, producing collectible pieces until their closure in 1985. Perfect as a standalone decorative accent or a petite vessel for a single bloom, this vase is a refined addition to any collector’s assemblage or modernist interior, capturing the era’s fascination with sleek materials and sculptural forms.
