About the Item
Impeccable and rare stoneware pitcher produced by Rörstrands, Sweden, 1940s. Designed and signed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997).
Nylund served as artistic director at Rörstrands, where he worked 1931-1955. Prior to his work at Rörstrand he was a well-established ceramic artist in Denmark at Bing & Grøndahl, and later founding ceramic workshop Saxbo, in partnership with Nathalie Krebs.
Exceptional eggshell glaze with hues of green and brown.
