About the Item
Impeccable and rare model 'AUV' vase produced by Rörstrand, Sweden, 1940s. Designed and signed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997).
Part of the "Alphabet Series" vases.
Nylund served as artistic director at Rörstrands, where he worked 1931-1955. Prior to his work at Rörstrand he was a well-established ceramic artist in Denmark at Bing & Grøndahl, and later founding ceramic workshop Saxbo, in partnership with Nathalie Krebs.
Exceptional eggshell glaze with hues of blue and brown. Impeccable and rare stoneware vase produced by Rörstrands, Sweden, 1950s. Designed and signed by Gunnar Nylund, (Swedish, 1914-1997).
Nylund served as artistic director at Rörstrands, where he worked 1931-1955. Prior to his work at Rörstrand he was a well-established ceramic artist in Denmark at Bing & Grøndahl, and later founding ceramic workshop Saxbo, in partnership with Nathalie Krebs.
