Sea Glasbruck was founded by Inge Samuelsson, Sven Ernstsson och Tore Andersson in 1956. The name SEA was achieved by combining the first letter of the last name of the three owners. But glass production at the mill had been around since 1953, when Ekeberga glass works was founded at the site just outside Kosta. They made most raw glass for further refinement of the company Dekor-Etching in Kosta. In 1956, Samuelsson/Ernstsson/Andersson bought Ekeberga glassworks and started up new manufacturing there. Inge Samuelsson was not only one of the owners, but also worked as designer for SEA. The Rocket vase was one of his most successful models.
